WednesdayWorkout: Wonder Woman

In this week’s WednesdayWorkout we decided to look at how Gal Gadot went from not being able to do a single pull up to becoming Marvel’s Wonder Woman!

Below you’ll see exactly which exercises she did and what impact they have on a person’s body.

The exercises she chose to do work most of the muscles in your body. There is a heavy focus on compound movements and the ‘full body workout’ concept is the main feature of her regime.

  • Bear crawl

Bear crawls work your arms, shoulders and chest and also improve your core function and stability, making it the perfect movement if you want to work every muscle.

  • Rowing machine

Rowing is an exercise that works your quads, hamstrings, glutes, abs, and obliques as well as your traps, lats and arms. Just like the bear crawl rowing can provide a very good full body workout and can burn up to 377 calories in just 30 minutes.

  • Burpee

The burpee is a compound movement, meaning it works just about every muscle in your body. A single burpee will work your arms, quads, chest, glutes, hamstrings, and abs.

  • Crab walk

Crab walks have many of the same benefits as the bear walk, however they also strengthen your hamstrings and triceps, as well as your shoulder and abs.

  • Pull up

Pull ups are one of the most effective exercises to train your upper body. This is because they work a number of muscles at the same time such as your back, shoulders, chest and arms.

  • Ring push up

Ring push-ups are one of the most efficient variations of the traditional push ups and even though it does require some equipment there are a number of benefits. They work your chest, shoulders, arms and abs just the same as a traditional push up, however they add instability, meaning your body has to work even harder to stay balanced, resulting in a better workout.

The effects of these exercises are obvious when you consider Gal Gadot could not even do a single pull up before starting her transformation. The shape she was in for the Batman Vs Superman and Wonder Woman films is incredible, and a strong workout regime coupled with a good, healthy diet is the easiest way to get there!
