FridayFocus: Interview with Sabrina Chakici

Sabrina Chakici is the subject of this week’s FridayFocus! We interviewed the TV presenter and lifestyle blogger and found out her favourite ways to stay healthy, the favourite part of her job and her best piece of life advice plus more.

  1. Who are you, and where do you come from?

Sabrina Chakici, I’m a TV Presenter & Travel Blogger based in London, originally from Lincolnshire.

  1. When did you decide to start blogging and why?

I was working on a TV shopping channel and my audience would always ask me to start a blog to tell them about the clothes I was wearing on air as I could never mention brands on TV due to ASA laws. So, it started as a way to communicate more with my viewers that also included my holidays. After a year or so of personally blogging I knew that travel was all I wanted to write about so my blog is now a fully focused travel hub but it still focuses on my own personal experiences.

  1. What’s your favourite way to stay healthy?

Everything in moderation when it comes to food and lots of exercise.

  1. What will we find you doing when you’re not blogging?

Working out and making time to see my friends, my friends are my world!

  1. What’s your favourite part of being a TV presenter?

It was my dream job as a child so it’s always a pinch me moment when I am on the red carpet. I love filming scripted TV shows as they are a challenge for me to be able to remember my lines! My favourite is improvised interviews though as I love having to think quick on the spot and interact with whoever I am interviewing at the time.

  1. Any fitness/life goals for 2017?

Life goals I would love to be working on my own TV program (which is top secret at the moment!) fitness wise I am just focusing on keeping on top of my exercise whilst travelling so much. I like to work out a minimum of 4 times a week even when I’m away and that can be quite a challenge flying to different time zones so often!

  1. What is your favourite place you’ve travelled to?

The Galapagos Islands are like nowhere else in the world, I loved being so close to nature and hearing the remarkable stories of the evolution of the island’s animals. It was also a pretty spectacular moment to be able to swim with wild sea lions!

  1. Best piece of life advice?

‘I can’t tell you the key to success but the key to failure is trying to please everyone’

  1. What would you be doing if you weren’t a blogger and TV presenter?

I would be a marine biologist or a marine life photographer

  1. Have you always been into your health and staying fit?

Yes, I am not blessed with a slim figure naturally, I have to work for it! I also think exercise is great for your body internally and I have always been of the mindset that we have to train and keep our organs and muscles in tip top working order!
