In this week’s WednesdayWorkout blog we focus on Channing Tatum, and how he maintains his shape between filming, ahead of the release of his most recent project Kingsman: The Golden Circle!
The goal of Tatum’s routine is to maintain a lean body, whilst also gaining muscle mass to give him the chiselled look he needs for his roles.
Here is Tatum’s first set of exercises:
- Skipping Rope
- Push-Ups
- Military Press
- Bench Press
This set of exercises works your chest, back and shoulders, whilst also incorporating some cardiovascular training with the skipping. Skipping is used by athletes, and boxers in particular, to keep them light on their feet and get their heart rate up for a good cardio workout which can otherwise be overlooked whilst weight training.
The second set of exercises are:
- Walking Lunges
- Hanging Leg Lifts
- Squats
- Burpees
This set of exercises focuses heavily on working all of the muscles in your body. Burpees and squats are considered some of the best exercises around, working multiple muscle groups at once. The walking lunge also works your legs and core whilst the hanging leg lifts are great for your core and arms.
The final set of exercises is:
- Kettlebell Swings
- Mountain Climbers
- Sit-Ups
- Box Jumps
The exercises in this group work a huge number of muscles in your body, from your core to your arms and legs. Box jumps are extremely effective and challenging and mountain climbers are great bodyweight exercises.
Channing Tatum is in great shape and has been for some years, so his routine does not just focus on creating a chiselled look but also maintaining his physique between and during filming roles.
